N'Awlins Bread Puddin'
- Sugar, 1 to 1 1/2 cups
- Eggs, 3
- Butter, 5 tablespoons (oh, ch-ya baby!)
- Milk, 3 cups (or maybe try da half-n-half)
- Bread, stale/day ole French bread, cut up inta da cubes, big as ya like it
- Chopped pecans, 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup
- Raisins, 3/4 cup
- Nutmeg and Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon each
- Vanilla, 1 to 2 teaspoons (I like it wid da extra)
Put tagether da sugar, cinnamon, and da nutmeg. Add whipped eggs and trow in da vanilla. Put dat der raisins and da nuts in dat now.
In one o ya's saucepan, melt da butter and then trow in da milk, get dat nice and warm. Add dat to der sugar and da egg stuff ya got. Mix dat up nice and good.
Ok, now. Now ya heat up da oven nice and warm to 350 degrees. Put da bread cubes in a 12 x 8 inch baking dish, then pour dat hot stuff all over der. Heat dat nice and good for abouts an hour.
Serve dat hot or ya serve dat cold. Just don't forget da Bourbon Sauce (coming by 25Feb!) |
